Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has WNBA fans debating after she demanded the league and TV networks to give everyone the same publicity and not just one player–which many assumed is Caitlin Clark.
For those who missed it, Reese went viral recently after she posted on social media to call out what she feels is an unfair treatment for players.
While she did not drop any name, it seemed like she’s taking issue with the attention everyone is giving Clark (as proven by the 36 national TV games the Indiana Fever are in).
“Give every team the same PUBLICITY cause it ain’t just one team,” Reese wrote on her post on X. The Sky rookie further declared, “Oh the CHICAGO SKY ARE HERE & ON THE RISE.”
Sure enough, Reese’s post garnered plenty of reactions. Many agreed with her and expressed their support for her and the Sky.
“We have to many players to be pretending only one player is saving the WNBA… Enough is enough…. These talented ladies deserve the same recognition, and maybe they too can get the endorsements they too deserves…. Give them the spotlight to be seen…” a fan commented while tagging the WNBA and ESPN.
Another one said, “Facts only! Equal shine for all teams and players!”
“Loud it so the people at the back can hear you loud and clear,” a third supporter shared.

Unfortunately for Angel Reese, several others questioned her remarks and pointed out that Clark’s popularity is undeniably a huge factor in the increased eyeballs and many improvements in the league.
“If Caitlin stayed in college , charter flights wouldn’t be a thing in WNBA right now. But all teams do deserve it tho,” a critic claimed–which might not be that accurate since the league has been implementing a charter flight program for some time already, even expanding it in 2023.
Another commenter said, “Publicity was brought to the WNBA by 1 player. Lets not kid ourselves. Keep up the hard work.”
“There’s not a single sport on the planet where every team gets the same publicity,” another one argued.
It will definitely take some time before all WNBA teams get the recognition and attention they deserve. That is just the harsh reality of the industry. However, props should be given to Reese for consistently advocating for women’s basketball and promoting it.
