On Friday night, the Indiana Pacers fought their semifinal battle against the NY Knicks at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse where they had a special guest from the other Indiana team to cheer for them.
One of the biggest names in women’s basketball and the new addition to the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark came to extend her support for the Pacers.
Clark attended Game 3 of the playoff series with her new teammates and was seen celebrating when Tyrese Haliburton scored from deep.
The Pacers guard shot his fifth 3-pointer in the opening half, and as soon as he hit his second straight bucket, the camera panned towards Clark, who was cheering from the stands.
After two back-to-back losses, the Pacers were determined to snatch the win on their home court, and they did with a 111-106 win.
The 22-year-old WNBA guard had earlier attended the third game of the round-one playoff series, where the Pacers played the Milwaukee Bucks.
Besides capturing attention with her presence in the NBA post-season games, Clark has drawn a massive number of fans to her home debut game.
Caitlin Clark’s Home Debut Draws Record Attendance
Many basketball players made their names in their college days but couldn’t bring the same shine to the WNBA. However, Caitlin Clark is an exception, who landed in the Indiana Fever along with her superstar status.
A glimpse of her stardom was spotted at the Fieldhouse on Thursday when Clark played her first preseason home game against the Atlanta Dream.
The Indianapolis arena witnessed more than 13,000 people who wanted to see jersey no. 22 perform, whereas the average number of home court fans was reportedly around 4,000 during last year’s regular season.
This was unbelievable to the Fever coach, Christie Sides, as well as Clark. With her exceptional abilities, the 6-footer forced many hoop lovers to turn into her fans.
When Clark shot her first bucket in the middle of the opening quarter, the crowd went gaga over it.
She finished the night with a 12-8-6 stat line while shooting 4-of-12 baskets from the field and 2-of-9 from behind the arc.
The franchise secured an 83-80 victory, and the fans were thoroughly entertained.
