Victor Wembanyama has taken the league by storm since his NBA Draft last season.

The Spurs rookie bagged the Rookie Of The Year award in his debut season despite the franchise’s lowly finish.

With his defensive performance, the Frenchman could’ve also bagged the Defensive Player Of The Year award, which ultimately went Timberwolves C Rudy Gobert’s way.

But this is only the beginning, and it gives Gilbert Arenas a lot of optimism regarding Wembanyama’s future.

During a recent episode of his “Gils Arena Show“ podcast, the former Magic guard said,

“Wemby’s gonna be a billionaire while he’s playing. Faster than LeBron was and then the generation after that. I’m not even talking about off the court, I’m talking about on the court,” while talking about Wembanyama.

Wembanyama has already earned more than $100 million only through endorsements, as his rookie deal helps him pocket $13.7 million per year.

No player in the history of the NBA has accumulated $1 billion in salary, with only LeBron James set to reach the $500 million mark on his next contract in the summer.

However, for Wemby, this is only a start as he is still not at his 100%, which he revealed after the monstrous rookie season.

Victor Wembanyama Is Only at 15% of His Potential

Even before coming to the NBA, expert hoopers repped Wembanyama as a talent to watch out for.

Once he stepped into the league, he used his 7’4″ frame to its maximum efficiency to average 21.4 points per game, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.6 blocks. But according to Wemby, this was not even half of his true ceiling.

Talking to Le Monde, Wembanyama revealed a scary fact about him that surely put the league on notice.

“I would say that I am currently at 15% between my first NBA game and what I hope will be my prime,” said a confident Wembanyama to the native outlet.

While the Spurs failed to replicate their best form in 2023-24, back-up is on the way for Victor Wembanyama as the San Antonio franchise currently holds number 4 and 8 picks in the upcoming NBA Draft.

With more fresh blood injected into Gregg Popovich’s system, the Spurs could be a force to reckon with in the West next season.
