Since officially declaring for the 2024 draft, Bronny James’ future has raised more questions.

While some still doubt his ability to join the big league, a franchise executive compared the prospect’s profile to that of a veteran of the professional courts.

Victim of a common cardiac arrest last summer, Bronny James was able to show self-sacrifice by making his return to the court and at the same time his university debut.

It was therefore with the USC Trojans team that the young talent took his first steps in the NCAA.

Due to his health concerns, he still remained subject to a playing time restriction, pushing him to play 19.4 minutes per match.

That being said, even taking into account the mitigating circumstances, he did not necessarily give complete satisfaction with his performances, far from it.

But while he is only averaging 4.8 points at 36.6% shooting, including 26.7% at three points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists and the criticism is raining down on him, the 19-year-old leader has taken the big decision to declare for the next draft.

Bronny James compared to a league star

Now that he has officially declared himself for the 2024 draft, Bronny James is becoming a more serious topic of discussion for NBA scouts.

Although some analysts still doubt his abilities to join the league, franchise leaders continue to study the possibility of recruiting LeBron’s son.

Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer gave his opinion on him by comparing him to another player:

James projects himself more as a disruptor. You could say he is version 2.0 of Patrick Beverley, Davion Mitchell or Norris Cole.

Beverley has had the longest career of the three because he is the best shooter (37% from three-point range in his career).

Mitchell has yet to seize his chance with the Kings, while Cole won two titles with LeBron James in Miami before disappearing.

Part of that is because his shot never developed. That said, all three were respectable defenders.

Bronny will have to follow in their footsteps to become part of a winning team.

Despite the fact that he encounters difficulties in attack, Bronny James has demonstrated significant potential in defense.

This aspect of his game is reminiscent of that of Patrick Berverley among others.

Inevitably compared to his father LeBron , the young prospect would be closer to a role player like the Sixer.

His above-average physical skills and his playing intelligence could be taken into consideration by certain franchises who would opt to recruit him in the draft.

And even though many rumors send him to the Lakers, it is not yet certain that he will be among the 60 players chosen.

Officially declared for the 2024 draft, Bronny James is the subject of debate and big discussions internally among the franchises.

However, his defensive talents and his profile reminiscent of that of Patrick Beverley will eventually allow him to join a team next June, according to Kevin O’Connor.
