For several years now, Bronny James has found himself embroiled in a storyline that would see him team up with his father, LeBron, in the NBA.

However, despite the will that the King may have displayed in this regard, he maintains a completely different discourse.

While he confirmed his registration for the Draft a few weeks ago, many observers questioned the merits of this choice. However, it is clear that Bronny James can reasonably claim to join the NBA this summer.

Several franchises are in fact monitoring him carefully , particularly in the hope of attracting LeBron into their ranks at the same time.

That said, the Lakers have obviously not said their last word and do not intend to take the risk of letting their current leader slip away like this.

They would also consider selecting the young fullback on June 26 or 27 in order to convince the King to stay in Los Angeles

. And even if his opinion will have little importance when the time comes, the prospect has reiterated it in recent hours.

Bronny James confirms his intentions towards LeBron

The subject of numerous interviews on the sidelines of the Draft Combine, Bronny notably found himself invited to discuss a possible future association with LeBron.

But unlike his father, he said a few days ago that he was not making these family reunions an obsession .

Comments that he maintained on the microphone of SiriusXM this Monday, however bringing a certain nuance:

Bronny James: It would be something very symbolic, but that’s not what concerns me the most at the moment. The most important thing for me right now is to join the league.

That said, it would be the icing on the cake if I could play with my dad. I think it would be an awesome experience.

Given his position in the various projections , it is indeed better for him to focus on his accession to the NBA.

A speech imbued with maturity which demonstrates the fact that Bronny wishes to chart his own path and emerge as much as possible from his father’s shadow.

Something that he has so far failed to do, he who continues to be constantly compared to the latter in a way that is, to say the least, degrading.

Also questioned about this phenomenon, he nonetheless believes he was able to turn it into a strength:

Bronny James: It’s difficult. I get a lot of criticism for that, but I have to deal with it. People don’t know what I had to go through.

I just try to make the most of the opportunities that come my way. (…) Over the years, I think it has allowed me to become someone mentally strong. I think I managed all of that pretty well and I’m happy with the position I’m in.

If there was still a shadow of doubt, Bronny James made sure to clarify that not playing alongside LeBron in the NBA would not upset him in any way. And what could be more logical for a young player who wants to take his own path?
