For years, LeBron James has explained that he wants to play with his elder Bronny before retiring, so it’s a subject that comes up insistently before the latter’s Draft.
Present at the Combine in Chicago, the former USC player was asked about this father’s dream.
Bronny James is not the best player in the next Draft, nor the most promising, but he is clearly the best known.
Son of the potential GOAT and over-hyped from a young age, the prospect from USC attracts the attention of all observers and fans during the Combine which is currently taking place in Chicago.
And he was quite good during training matches, including a very difficult basket.
Bronny James packs his father before the Draft!
But this pre-Draft meeting is not only used to display sporting qualities, the prospects must also show their eloquence to the journalists’ microphones.
Unsurprisingly, LeBron James Jr. was asked about the possibility of playing with his father next season, and his speech is diametrically opposed to that of the King.
No, I never dreamed of playing with my father. My dream is simply to make myself known, to make my own name and above all to arrive in the NBA, which is the dream of all the players present here.
I never thought about being able to play with my father, although I know he talked about it several times. But I confirm that I don’t think about it.
I think the NBA is a very serious business and I don’t think a franchise is going to think of selecting me just because my father could follow.
I don’t think a GM would accept that. I never thought about that, I’ve worked enough and I want to be Drafted not only because I’m a good player, but also because I’m a good person.
Bronny James hears what is being said about him, that he might be selected simply because his father is going to follow him, but he doesn’t want to believe it.
Already because he never dreamed of being on the same team as LeBron, but also and above all because he sees the NBA as a serious league, where no one would risk such a maneuver. Distrust all the same.
Bronny James is a good basketball player, but without his last name, not sure he would have received the same attention. Regardless, he doesn’t want to believe that a team will select him in the Draft simply for this reason.
