Yearning for a Masters Invite, Steph Curry Would Be Heartbroken With Scottie Scheffler’s Latest Revelation

The Masters Championship is here, and it seems Stephen Curry is yearning for an invitation!

And, why would he not?

After all, it is one of the most prestigious achievements in golf, known for the Champion’s dinner, Par 3 contest, the iconic green jacket, and other traditions.

Held annually, the 2024 Masters are slated from April 11 to April 14.

With the event just hours away, Steph’s longing to be in attendance is reportedly increasing by the minute.

A significant example of it came when Curry was asked to choose from the two, setting the NBA record for all-time scoring leader or receiving an invite to play at the Masters? To that, Curry replied, “Based on sheer numbers, I’m probably not gonna get the all time scoring record in the NBA.

LeBron’s going to have that one. So let me go and get that Master’s invite.”

While Curry seems to have a clear intention of his desires from the contest, as resonated by his choice for Pimento and Cheese sandwich, a new unfolding might cause the 4-time champion’s slight displeasure

. When asked about his favorite to win the 2024 edition, Steph cited “Scottie Scheffler.”

However, Scottie has recently declared that since his wife will be in labor during the contest, he would have to hand in his withdrawal.

But, now that the 36-year-old basketball has already mentioned his wish to get a Masters invite, can be actually get one?

What is the eligibility criteria for getting the Masters invite?

While Stephen Curry has experienced the Augusta course firsthand, he still has a candidacy to forge to partake in the venue’s biggest event.

One way to do it is to win any of the three: the PGA Championship, the Open Championship, or the U.S Open, granting the winners a 5-year obligatory invite.

Other ways include standing on top of the Players Championship, the Olympics, being a top-30 qualifier for PGA Tour’s Tour Championship, being a top-50 player within Official World Golf Ranking or being a winner/runner-up in an elite amateur-level tournament.

A more captivating entry could be by winning the Masters (lifetime invitation) or by finishing top-12 (invite-back). However, that poses a standstill situation for Steph.
